Fairylands neues Album „Osyrhianta“ ist das vierte Konzeptalbum der Band und ist das Prequel zur bisherigen Trilogie, die aus den Alben „Of Wars In Osyrhia“ (2003), „The Fall Of An Empire“ (2006) and „Score To A New Beginning“ (2009) besteht.
Es handelt von der Erschaffung von Osyrhia, den Ländereien und deren Bewohnern und geht schließlich auch auf das Erscheinen von Cenos ein. Er sollte in Osyrhia lehren, wurde jedoch durch die Kreationen – welche er den Osyrhianern zu entwerfen erlaubte – in Eifersucht und Gier getrieben. Alle Ereignisse auf dem Album finden 3000 Jahre vor den Geschehnissen auf dem ersten Album „Of Wars In Osyrhia“ statt.
Fairyland besinnen sich auf dem neuen Album etwas zurück auf ihre Wurzeln und greifen Aspekte aller vorherigen Alben auf. Die Band hat ebenfalls von den Neuerungen im Bereich Studiotechnik profitiert. Gemastert wurde es in professioneller Umgebung von einem erfahrenen Tontechniker, der genau wusste, was er tat.
Als i-Tüpfelchen ist auf dem Album ein Violinist zu hören. Bereits auf einer früheren Demo kam ein Violinist zum Einsatz und seitdem hatte die Band Blut geleckt. Es scheint fast schon eine Tradition zu sein: Mit einem neuen Album kommt auch ein neuer Sänger. Dieses Mal steht Francesco Cavalieri – von den italienischen Dwarf Metal Ikonen Wind Rose (bekannt durch den Song „Diggy Diggy Hole“) – hinter dem Mikrofon. Er bringt sowohl eine gewisse Rauheit als auch Melodik mit und seine Chor-Parts muten sehr opernhaft an.

Fairyland’s new album „Osyrhianta“ is the fourth in a conceptual series and acts as a prequel to the previous trilogy that was comprised of „Of Wars In Osyrhia“ (2003), „The Fall Of An Empire“ (2006) and „Score To A New Beginning“ (2009).
It narrates the creation of the world Osyrhia, presents its lands as well as the people who inhabit them, and ultimately deals with the appearance of Cenos, sent on Osyrhia to teach, but driven to jealousy and greed by the creations he allowed the Osyrhians to devise. It takes place roughly 3000 years before the events of the very first album.
Regarding the sound and songwriting, this new album goes back to Fairyland’s roots while highlighting aspects of all previous albums. Technically, the band has benefitted from advances in studio equipment. It was mastered in a professional studio by a highly professional sound engineer, who knew what he was doing when he worked on „Osyrhianta“. And to sweeten the deal, all the new tracks also include a real violinist, which is something Fairyland wanted to experiment with again after a first attempt on the band’s earliest demo.
As seems to be a tradition now, Fairyland have a new singer on the new album: Francesco Cavalieri from Italian dwarf metal icons Wind Rose (of „Diggy Diggy Hole“ fame). He brings roughness as well as melody to the mix, and his choirs are very operatic.
